Why we're building this
Too many products scratch after a week, break after a year. It doesn't have to be this way.
We met at the University of Göttingen and both asked ourselves the same question: are there materials that are nearly completely scratch-proof? The answer was yes. Synthetically grown gemstones like sapphire have existed for over a hundred years and are harder than almost anything we hold in our hands every day.
As participants of the LIFT-OFF 2026 startup competition, we are bringing synthetic sapphire into everyday life. Pens are just the beginning. More products are coming soon.
